We are delighted to welcome our new Visiting Fellow, Elisa Dominguez Hüttinger, to the KLI.
Elisa is a theoretical systems biologist passionate about developing and applying mathematical and computational tools to better understand, prevent, and treat complex diseases. She integrates clinical and experimental data into bottom-up, mechanistic, and quantitative models encoded as non-linear dynamical systems.
Elisa will be a Visiting Fellow at the KLI from June 1 to July 4, 2026.
Her KLI project is titled “Modelling Epithelial Homeostasis as an Emergent Property of the Dynamical Coupling between Barrier Function, Immune Response, and the Microbiome” and aims to unveil general principles governing epithelial homeostasis and shed light on the evolutionary and developmental origins of pathophysiological processes.
We wish Elisa a productive and enjoyable stay at the KLI and in Austria.
