We are very happy to welcome our new Visiting Fellow, Tomasz Szubart, to the KLI.
Tomasz is a philosopher of cognitive science at the University of Szczecin, and his research focuses on musical meaning and representation. In his dissertation at the Jagiellonian University, he examined how cognitive music aesthetics can deepen our understanding of philosophical questions about musical representation and significance.
Tomasz will be a Visiting Fellow at the KLI from June 1 to June 26, 2026.
His project, titled “Music as Natural Content: A Teleosemantic Account of Musical Meaning Across Biological, Cognitive and Cultural Levels”, aims to integrate these levels into a philosophical account of music as a natural-content-bearing system.
We wish Tomasz an inspiring and enjoyable stay at the KLI and in Austria.
